Fel is no place for the illiterate and weak

These are some survival suggestions from various boards.

Please remember that though Felucca is more dangerous, many over exaggerate the impact of pk's, of thieves, of general difficulties.

1)Keep your valuables in the bank - travel with what you need, not what you own. That way, you don't lose everything if the worst should happen. Don't carry more than 30 regs of each.
2)Stay off the roads. PK's like those.
3)Learn the hiding skill. Great to avoid pesky thieves or PK's. Essential if you are a tradesman.
4)Carry items in several bags/pouches. Make sure each bag is heavier than...er...not sure, but 30 stone works for me.
5)Keep your distance from everyone.
6)When going to the bank, run around the wall to check for other hidden folk. Then hide when you bank.
7)Keep to clear ground in the wilds so you don't get blocked or surrounded by the spawn.
8)Don't wear fancy coloured armour when venturing out of town. Inside a town you might attract thieves.
9)Travel with someone. PK's love a lone target.
10)Cover your stuff in your backpack. Thieves can move them, but it makes life tougher for them.
11)Accept that you might actually get killed. However, would most likely be from spawn than reds.
12)Get a city runebook!!! Why walk if you don't have to?When you first enter Felucca, don't think that you'll be attacked on sight.

But don't trust those you doesn't know. They can be very friendly, and the suddenly your magic weapon is gone. So always stand 1 tile away from people you doesn't know and trust. Other thieves have to stand right next to you before he can snoop and/or steal from you.

This also applies when you are banking. If you have spare skillpoints for hiding, then practise it a bit. It is very good to have in Felucca.

When you are in dungeons and on adventure, then beware of pks, of course. Avoid the most crowded dungeons as pks hunts where there's most people around.

And there's another type of annoying people in Felucca, the blockers. If you are in a bit of trouble, and running from that big bad monster, then... *poof!* A wall of stone just stopped you from escaping the monster, and then you're dead. And looted!

Try to always be at max health, it is so much easier to escape if you aren't near death.

Don't be afraid to die, we will all die someday. And fame isn't important.

Carry a few GH GC and TR potions, nothing like a GH when you dont want to drop your health down, GC's a damn good one as potions cant be interrupted, and TR can help against a blocker if you are lucky.

Trapped pouches, these are the buggers I normally forget, nothing like getting paralysed and opening 3 pouches only to find not one of them is trapped, also all you PvP mages, I am so thick that I forget my useonce macro in UOA and end up hunting thru my stupidly messy pack while you meditate :).

A sense of humour is probably neccesary in most situations, this way if someone does PK you, or steals from you instead of going off on one which will quite frankly amuse them in a bad way (they'll rezkill you if a PK or just steal random [censored] from you if a thief) however if you just laugh it off you can generally get by, if you're PKed try a line like 'if I didnt totally suck that'd have lasted another 5 seconds!!!' or something, I once got all my stuff back cos a red felt sorry for me, only once like, but a sense of humour also stops you stressing over small [censored], just think when the PK bites it he's going to have to overcome statloss.

If you're being stonewalled/energy fielded in felucca then if you escape try and exact revenge in the same manner, I got an energy fielder/looter/revealer in bloods by trapping him with a field and revealing him as the blood kicked his ass, nothing like seeing em bite it to their own tricks.

To covering stuff, well cover it with 2 items instead of one, this makes it doubly hard to steal, I'm pretty sure a thief would need a hellishly fast (possibly slow) connection to peek under 3 robes as the damned things bounce back into place so quickly, also if someone snoops you try hiding quickly if you can, otherwise they'll have an item arms lored and the only thing for it is to get your ass out of there.

One little anti thief trick I've got is to carry 1 or 2 absolutely pointless magic items, a durable broadsword, or a club of might, or even a club of clumsiness with 0 charges, this stops really really bad thieves from getting anything of worth, at least if you lose your good stuff you know you've been done by a thinker rather than a fool, number of times I've had a thief get guardwhacked over a club of might is hilarious (well 5 but I'm easily amused). Just remember once you're snooped mr thief can peruse your pack at a few paces, item ID and arms lore items then hit you with a rather nifty steal last target macro as he races past, so try and get away as soon as the snoop message comes up, or if at bank just bank valuables, you'll never be totally safe, but hell wheres the fun in being totally safe.

Some more points: You don't need hiding skill to hide inside the footprint of a player owned house. Even with 0 skill you have a very good chance of hiding on a doorstep. So the trick is to run around a corner, hide immediately and watch your pursuers rush by you.

Also, don't be surprised if you are NOT pk'd or robbed. In comparison to Trammel, Felucca is an empty dessert. There are places with high concentrations of players and pk's but the general population density is way lower than in Trammel. This has the advantage that there is much less server lag.
